Another school year is to be added in High School. YES OR NO? WHY?

Add it to college years; that's where more of the supposedly job skill-trainings are.

personally I think schools aren't strict enough. Or uh encouraging? I've seen alot of dumb people graduate, and the (as in the usa) aren't scoring very well compare to other kids around the world. I dunno if adding another year would help? XD

4 years is enough. XD
But then again, there are places with 3 years.
I agree with bernoully. Basic college would be more beneficial if there was more time added. As a "final preparation for the real-world"..

not the same amount of productivity would be accomplished in comparison to if another year was added in college.
Another thing that has to be taken into account would be the school itself. All schools are different. In some places it would work more, while in others it wouldn't. Uhm.. but yeah. My opinion.

take a year away from elementary and high school more adjustable to college interests and i vote yes. xP

I think a year should be added for college, not high school... College is where people need more education. High school (well mine anyways) challenges me enough as it is because I'm in the IB Program ... I don't need another year added on. xD;;

No if anything add it to college where those who are truly serious about their education can go for more years.
And besides ONE more year in high school is enough to drive anyone insane XD

I spent a good 20 minutes on this page trying to find a series of words that would properly express my disgust for this "idea".

However, there are no words strong and dark enough for me to POSSIBLY tell you how much I hate this.

I dunno. I kinda go for yes, since all the people where I'm at is like... "dumb". They can't speak English anymore... if not that, then they can't write or read anymore!

Very few 18 year olds know what they want to do in life. Think of how many college kids drop out in their first year?? I think one more year of high school will give them more time to think of what they want to be, without the pressure of being told they should be continuing their education. But I don't think they should force you to take X amounts of science and math and things. It should be about preparing for college. Computer classes, art classes if you want an art school, wood work for carpenters, blah blah blah.

I remember everyone asking me why I didn't go to college right away. When I think of the thousands they lost by dropping out, I'm so happy I didn't make that mistake.

in my country, it's a definite yes. unlike american schools, we begin the school year at the age of three, rather than four. A great majority of students usually graduate between the ages of 18 and 16. Quite a few of my friends are only fifteen and plan on graduating next year. Seeing how we only have one decent college in the entire country, most of us can't even further our studies abroad fresh out of high school due to age.

i think yes, although i would LOVE to get out of school sooner, i think it would be better and give people more time to think of what they want to do in the future.:]
